{"id":1116,"date":"2013-05-30T17:16:56","date_gmt":"2013-05-30T17:16:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/masteringtheobvious.wordpress.com\/?p=242"},"modified":"2013-05-30T17:16:56","modified_gmt":"2013-05-30T17:16:56","slug":"introduction-to-lean-agile-work-presentation-to-ieee-ottawa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agilepartnership.com\/fr\/introduction-to-lean-agile-work-presentation-to-ieee-ottawa\/","title":{"rendered":"Introduction to Lean &amp; Agile Work: presentation to IEEE Ottawa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of presenting \u201cAn Introduction to Lean and Agile Work\u201d\u00a0to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieeeottawa.ca\/aicn\/events\/grove\/\">one of the IEEE Ottawa SIGs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a prelude \u00a0to the conversation, we played a simple variant of the penny game in order to spark some lively discussion and great questions to frame the rest of the evening. \u00a0We then talked about Agile values and principles, and how those ideas are manifested in Agile and Lean practices. \u00a0As the group was quite small, it was less of a formal presentation and more of a conversation with a few pictures to help clarify key ideas about Scrum and Kanban:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/masteringtheobvious.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/05\/scrum-3.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-243 alignnone\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" alt=\"scrum 3\" src=\"http:\/\/masteringtheobvious.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/05\/scrum-3.jpg?w=300&amp;h=225\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/masteringtheobvious.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/05\/image.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-244 alignnone\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/masteringtheobvious.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/05\/image.jpg?w=300&amp;h=225\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The conversation was lively and long (as an Agile coach, I tell myself that one day I\u2019ll get the hang of this time-boxing thing!), and from the comments afterwards it was clear that the talk had sparked a lot of curiosity about how these ideas could be applied in practice.
